Willie Eddie (Chubby) Sanders was born on February 4, 1952. He was the son of the late James and Everlee Narron Sanders. He departed this life on Saturday, May 2, 2020, at his home in Princeton, NC.
Willie attended Richard B. Harrison Elementary School and graduated High School from Smithfield Selma Senior High School in 1972.
Willie enlisted in the United States and honorable served for two years. Willie worked for the Town of Selma in the Sanitation Department. He retired with twenty-nine years of service.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Yvonne Sanders of the home; his daughter Lena Saunders of Princeton, NC; son-in-law, Timothy O'Neal of Princeton, NC; six grandchildren, Jimmy Saunders of Pikeville, NC, Timothy Saunders of Selma, NC, Anthony Saunders of Clayton, NC; Demetrius Saunders of Princeton, NC; Jasmine Oneal of Princeton, NC and Jennifer Oneal of Princeton, NC; 14 great grand children; granddaughter-in-law, Latasha Williams of Princeton, NC; four sisters, Doris Lacey of Raleigh, NC, Evelyn Imade' of Newark, NJ, Twalla Sanders of Raleigh, NC, and Karen Benton of Raleigh, NC; three brothers, Ronald Sanders (Linda) of Pine Level, NC, Arthur Sanders of Raleigh, NC and Lemuel Sanders (Lori) of Anniston, AL; three sisters-in-law, Mary Howell of Smithfield, NC, Wanda Whitted of Clayton, NC and Debra Prince of Selma, NC; three brothers-in-law, Stacy Howell of Raleigh, NC, Peter Howell of Virginia, and Kenny Howell of Germany and a host of nieces, nephews, loving relatives and friends.
