William Earl Haley

September 30, 1932 — April 29, 2020

Mr. William "Earl" Haley was born on September 30,
1932 in Johnston County North Carolina. He is the third of eight
siblings to Joseph Haley, Sr, and Pearl Williams Haley. At an early
age, he joined Juniper Grove Disciples Church. He was educated
in the Public schools of Four Oaks and Smithfield North Carolina.
After High School, he enlisted in the United States
Airforce and served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars as well as
State Side for 20 plus years. He was Honorably Discharged as
SSGT in 1971. For many years he worked for American and
Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company and also chauffeured
for the company for many years. Earl's favorite passion was
cooking. He served as a Head Chef at Juniper Grove Church and
Western Assembly CYF Summer Conference for several
years. And the family cannot forget all those Mother's
Days , Christmas Eve's and Family Dinner get-togethers he hosted
at their home. And he was a very good cook but would not share
ANY of his recipes!!!!
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Pearl
Williams Haley. Three brothers James Edward (RED), Dennis
Carroll and Durwood Lamar Haley.
He leaves to cherish fond memories: his devoted wife
Linda Hooks Haley, Smithfield NC, Daughters Kristi Lachelle
Haley-caregiver-helper of the home and Janet Rene` Haley, Fort
Worth, Texas, one son Joe Earl Haley of Forth Worth, Texas.
Two grandsons, three great grand, two great-great grands. One
brother Joseph Haley Jr (Geneva) Durham, NC three sisters, Ann
McNeil of Frankfort Kentucky, Hattie H. Cooper (Nathaniel)
Four Oaks NC, Glenda H. Rodgers Durham, NC. Sisters-In-Laws
Rena H Peacock Smithfield NC, Elizabeth Stancil of Selma, NC
Mary Haley of Fayetteville NC. Three Brothers-In-Laws Frenchie,
Jessie Hooks of Smithfield NC, and James Stancil of Selma NC.
A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and relatives.
