Steven Paul Champine

In the early morning of May 25, 2024, Steven Paul Champine passed away at the age of 67, while a patient at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC, after battling cancer. He was born on March 14, 1957, in Detroit, MI, to Marvin and Priscilla Champine. His upbringing and majority of life was spent in Michigan, until his recent relocation to North Carolina. He worked for ABC Warehouse and held several positions, including Director of Operations before pursuing other entrepreneurial endeavors.

Steve loved people and was appreciated for his friendly nature and sense of humor. Steve had a humble, kind, and empathetic heart and he was never without praise for his Savior. His creative spirit cultivated many personal interests. He was a talented musician, singer, and songwriter, his passion for music will always be remembered. Steve’s love and faith in the Lord was a cornerstone in his life. While a servant of the Lord he went on several missionary trips. Although his journey was not marked by perfection, he was grateful for the many miracles, blessings, and mercies he received. This truth brought life to his testimony and helped draw others to the knowledge that through Jesus we can obtain victory.

Steve is preceded in death by his father Marvin, mother Priscilla, brothers Claude, Gary, and Marty. He is survived by his brother Calvin (Sharon), sister Susan (Rick), brother Larry (Rosanne), sisters-in-law Angie, Judy, and Vicki, daughter Alissa (Chris), son Jordan (Karen), five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
