**Obituary for Shelby Jean Jackson**
Shelby Jean Jackson, affectionately known as Pebbles, was born on December 13, 1969, in Lillington, North Carolina, to James Jackson Sr. and the late Phyllis Jackson. She peacefully departed this life on July 7, 2025, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
A lifelong resident of North Carolina, Shelby received her education in Four Oaks and embraced her community with grace and warmth. Her deep faith and resilient spirit characterized her journey, as she found strength and joy in her relationship with God. Shelby was a cherished member of the Temple of Deliverance For All People in Wilson, NC, where she passionately expressed her love for worship through singing and music.
Remembered for her vibrant personality, Shelby derived joy from life's simple pleasures. She had a special passion for watching Turkish television shows and listening to soul-stirring music, and she delighted in the experience of online shopping, always eager to discover new treasures to enjoy or share. Time spent outdoors with loved ones brought her great happiness, but it was her long conversations with her best friend, Ann Cole, that she cherished most—a true testament to their bond of laughter, support, and unwavering friendship.
Shelby was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Phyllis Jackson, and her brother, Tracey Jackson. At the core of her life was family, and she leaves behind a legacy that includes her father, James Jackson Sr. of Dunn, NC; three daughters, Tierra Jackson of Selma, NC; Keyona Jackson of Texas; and Breosha Williams of the home; and two sons, Darius Jackson and Drequan Williams, both of Selma, NC. Her grandchildren—Darrion, Jyrell, Temauriyae, Jamarrion, Serenity, Zarena, Lyric, Naveah, Tahjay', and Messiah—will also carry forward her legacy.
Shelby is survived by three brothers, Shack Jackson (Jamie), Rodney Jackson (JaNella), and Michael Jackson; one sister, Katrina Jackson; her best friend, Ann Cole; a special daughter; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Her warmth touched many lives, creating cherished memories during family gatherings filled with laughter or through quiet moments shared over the phone. Shelby’s presence will be profoundly missed yet fondly remembered by all who knew her.
May her memory bring comfort to those who mourn her passing and serve as a lasting reminder of the enduring power of love.
