Sandy Archer, born on February 7, 1958, in New York City to Mary and Horace Archer, passed away
recently. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brothers, Lester D. Williams and Johnny
Lee Williams. Sandy completed his high school education in New York City and furthered his studies at the
University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Throughout his life, he resided in the Maryland and
Washington, D.C. area. Sandy was a beloved partner and friend of Evangel Assembly of
God in Temple Hills, Maryland, for more than 20 years. Over the years, he participated in the Usher Ministry,
Men’s Ministry, Men’s Prayer Breakfast, and eventually became the head of the
Security Ministry. Sandy was a “gentle giant, ” always giving through words and acts of kindness. He was
gracious and a good listener, always taking the time to help others. Sandy’s big heart, along with his big
smile, will be dearly missed. We are sure that Sandy was received into Heaven and most certainly heard the
words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Lord.” He is survived by two
sisters, Hazel Fulton and Linda Pough of Selma, North Carolina; his beloved niece, Lynn Williams of
Maryland; and a cherished family of numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will remember him
fondly.
