Rosa Lee Lemon Chrisp

September 15, 1937 — February 29, 2020

No teary eyes, Nor weep for me.
Rejoice my sweet, God has set me free.
Remember I love you, as I leave you behind
Let go and let God fill you, with peace of mind.
Rosa was born on September 15, 1937, to the late Tom and Carrie Lemon in Marlboro County, Bennettsville, South Carolina. She departed this life on February 29, 2020, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC.
Rosa was the mother of James Lemon, who preceded her in death and she was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Chrisp, all 13 of her siblings and she was the last Lemon to die.
Rosa was reared as a sharecropper in Marlboro County and she didn't attend school or church. She had to work all day.
Rosa moved to North Carolina and met Howard Chrisp and was married. They lived in Johnston County and remained with him until his death. Rosa worked in different homes and worked in tobacco with different farmers.
Rosa attended church and worked diligently in the kitchen and cleaned the church. She loved cooking, keeping children and going to a different church for singing programs and preaching. Rosa loved meeting people and would make you laugh. She was very friendly and loved sharing whatever she had.
Rosa will be missed greatly in the community. She would cook and invite the community to come and eat, sing and greet each other. Mickey was sick and had to use oxygen, but still tried to cook for others, especially Jennifer's three children, whom she loved dearly. She had two nieces, Wanda Groves, her caregiver and Cora Lee Davidson (both that stayed with her a lot). She had a very special friend, Linda Dunston.
Rosa leaves to cherish her loving memories: two granddaughters, Jennifer Robinson of the home and Helen McKey of Selma, NC; two grandson, Tommy Creech of Clayton, NC and James Robinson of Colorada; twelve great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; three brothers in law, Samuel Chrisp (Elsie) of Garner, NC, Glenn Chrisp (Debra) of Garner, NC, and Earl Chrisp (Angie) of Smithfield, NC; five sisters in law, Betty Carroll, Mildred Joyner, Claudette Chrisp, Gloria Chrisp, and Mozelle Chrisp and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
