Robbie Annette Sanders, of Clayton, North Carolina, was born on January23, 1961, in Durham, North Carolina, to Annie Pearl Sanders and Robert Elton Vinson. She transitioned on May 18, 2026.
Robbie spent her childhood in Clayton, North Carolina. She was educated inthe Johnston County school system and later graduated from truck drivingschool at Johnston Community College.
Robbie loved to cook and was never too shy to indulge. She was a lovingdaughter, mother, aunt, sister, and grandmother whose warmth and strengthtouched everyone around her. She was known for her caring spirit, and herlaughter could fill a room. She protected the people she cared for and wasalways eager to help within her means. During her downtime, she enjoyeddoing crossword puzzles, playing Royal Kingdom on her phone, andspending time with her family. She was always willing to travel andespecially loved trips to warm weather and sandy beaches.
Robbie was preceded in death by her son, Raytigis Sanders; her sister,Michelle Blaylock; her great-grandmother, Ida Clark; her aunt, ConstanceClark; and her uncle, Harry Clark.
She is survived by her children: daughter, Lakyla Reness Sanders, and son,Michael Cortez Sanders; her parents, Annie Pearl Sanders King (Elijah)
and Robert Elton Vinson; her sisters, Patricia Sanders, Rita Hill, andMichelle Dobbin (Virgil); her brothers, Charles Mangum (Natonya) andBerrick Smith; her grandchildren, Yanica Williams, Isania Sanders, JaniyahSanders, Angel Artis, Cameron Snead, and Cedveon Rouse; her close friends,Donna Clark, Annette Sinclair, Juanita Morgan, and Licia Creech; and herspecial cousin, Claudia Clark-Gulley (Cedrick). She also leaves behind a hostof nieces, nephews, cousins, “play cousins,” and friends. Robbie also leavesbehind Latarsha Edwards, Marcel Merritt, and Alpha “Junior” Edwards,whom she graciously took in as young children.
Robbie will live on through the many lives she touched with her kindness,selflessness, strength, and unwavering love for her family. She will be deeplymissed and forever remembered in the highest regard by her friends, family,and the entire Clayton community.
