Listen to Obituary

Pamela Michelle Dobbin Stevens departed this life on April 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was affectionately called “Pam” by all and was a resident of Selma, North Carolina.

Pamela was born to Patricia Brown and the late John Blake Sr. on September 14, 1970. She was an alumna of Armstrong High School in Richmond, Virginia. Pam worked numerous jobs, but the ones she loved most were in group homes and home health care. She worked at ACI Support for approximately 12 years as a CNA until her health declined. Pam always wanted to open her own business, and she later accomplished that goal. Her pride and joy was the “Stevens House of Hope for Veterans.”

Pam enjoyed taking care of her mother and had a true passion for caregiving and helping others. However, if you ever made her mad and her nostrils spread, you knew it was a bad day. Above all, she loved her family immensely and was very protective of them. She took on the big task of organizing the annual Dobbin family gatherings and made sure everyone enjoyed themselves, was well fed, and had plates to take home. She enjoyed cooking, especially her special baked mac and cheese and banana pudding. Pam also had a love for music and entertainment.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Marshawn Dobbin, and her stepfather, Darrick Brown, whom she affectionately called “Da.”

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving mother, Patricia Brown of Selma, NC; two sons, Marcus Dobbin (Sherry) of Four Oaks, NC, and Devontae Stevens of Garner, NC; one sister, Angela Blake of Clayton, NC; three brothers, John Blake Jr. (Tammy) of Richmond, VA, Jason Blake of Martinsville, VA, and Jamal Blake (Latoya) of Smithfield, NC; three granddaughters, Malia Baker, Marcayla Dobbin, and Myla Dobbin, all of Four Oaks, NC; two godchildren, Darrius Stevens and Diamond Stevens of Benson, NC; two best friends, Yolanda Stevens (Darryl), whom she affectionately called “Bruh Bruh,” of Benson, NC, and Natasha Nicole of Richmond, VA; a special family friend, Evelyn “LuLu” Dublin, who cared for her; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Pam also shared a special relationship with her two uncles, Ricky Dobbin of Newport News, VA, and Randolph Dobbin of Clayton, NC.
