Moses Lee Thomas was born on April 2, 1935. He departed this earthly life on December 30, 2020 at Johnston UNC Health in Smithfield, NC.
During his younger years, he had a reputation of being one heck of a man who enjoyed his life to the fullest especially his chatting to nice women and sharing a drink or two until he met the love of his life, Jacqueline McAllister. Moses was a hard worker. He worked for many years as a gas attendant and he was well loved by his boss. Moses claimed that he never went any further than the 2nd grade in school, but others claim that he told them the 3rd grade. He was a great stepdad and champion. His favorite song was, "Merry Christmas Baby Girl, you sho have been good to me."
Moses was preceded in death by his brother, Amos Thomas; his son, Ervin Thomas, and his number one boss, Charlie Stewart.
He leaves to cherish his memories: the love of his life for over 30 years, Ms. Jacqueline McAllister of Smithfield, NC; five devoted step children: Lois Amerson, who was his caregiver/guardian of the home, Portia McAllister of Benson, Deacon Al McAllister (Overseer Phyllis) of Erwin, Elder Sarah Kelly (Jerry) of Dunn and Mary Jane McAllister of Fayetteville; nine step grandchildren; twenty three step great grand children and nine step great great grandchildren; two sons, Keith Thomas and Kim Thomas; two brothers, Lennard Thomas and Eugene Thomas; three sisters, Betty Slater, Frances Harvey and Charlene Townsend all of Florida.
