Margie Ann Cole

November 29, 1941 — February 8, 2019

Margie Ann Cole, the daughter of the late Allie Cole Dublin, was born in Johnston County, North Carolina on November 29, 1941. She stepped into the portals of glory on Friday, February 8, 2019 at her home.
Margie received her formal education in the Johnston County Public School System, graduating from Johnston County Training School in 1959. Margie graduated from high school earlier than most of her fellow classmates due to high scholastic achievement. Margie matriculated to Elizabeth City State University where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. While at Elizabeth City State University, Margie joined Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and was proud to be an esteemed member for over 50 years.
Margie spent over 40 years teaching in the Lenoir County, North Carolina Public School System where many students, faculty, staff and local public officials loved and respected her. Margie often spoke with the students that she taught on a regular basis even into their adulthood. Margie did not meet a stranger and was a close friend and mother figure to many.
Margie was very active in the community as she worked tirelessly to assist and to lead with a servant heart. At an early age, Margie joined Juniper Grove Disciples of Christ Church in Four Oaks, North Carolina where she gave her life to Christ. She was an active member at the church for many years where she served in various capacities. Margie often volunteered with the Meals on Wheels and Four Oaks Public Library. Margie also served in her beloved Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated in various capacities and she was a charter member of the Psi Sigma Omega Chapter in Garner, North Carolina. She was always helping and giving to people because she genuinely loved helping others. Her generosity was perhaps her most noteworthy virtue as she gave with joy and sought no reward.
Her beloved mother, Allie Cole Dublin, preceded Margie in death. Left to cherish her precious memories and celebrate her life are close relatives and friends.
