**Obituary for Lula Marie Rouse**

Lula Marie Rouse, affectionately known as Marie, was born on October 11, 1935, to the late Charlie and Virginia Lewis. She peacefully entered eternal rest on January 14, 2021, in Newton Grove, North Carolina.

Marie was a devoted member of St. Peter Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, where she actively contributed her time and talents until her health began to decline. Over her more than 50 years of service, she held various roles including a decorated Usher, Youth Usher Director, Missions Department member, and VBS teacher. Her commitment extended beyond her church, as she was a dedicated participant in the Goldsboro-Raleigh Ushers Convention and a valued member of the Ever Ready Club.

Marie leaves behind a rich legacy of cherished memories, including her loving family: one daughter, Ruby Bryant (Jackie) of Newton Grove, NC; two sons, Harold Rouse III (Mary) of Smithfield, NC, and Charles Rouse, Sr. (Tiffany) of Clayton, NC; nine grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; two Goddaughters, Clara Newton and Betty Wells; and a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Her spirit of service and love for her community will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
