Luis Angel Ferrer-Zapata

Luis Angel Ferrer Zapata was born in the warm embrace of Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, as the cherished only son of Luis Angel Ferrer and Mercedes Zapata. His life’s journey took him from the vibrant streets of Puerto Rico to the bustling cityscape of New York, where he built a loving home with his beloved wife Ana. Together, they raised three wonderful sons: Jose, Melvin, and Luis Jr.

Throughout his life, Luis embraced many roles with dedication and heart. From working as a chauffeur and truck driver to pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors, he met each challenge with quiet strength and resilience. Simple joys filled his days — watching classic western movies that transported him to another time, savoring his daily cup of coffee, and most importantly, cherishing moments spent with his family.

Luis was preceded in passing by his dear wife Ana and his youngest son, Luis Angel. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through his surviving sons, Jose (Barbara) and Melvin (Michelle), and daughter-in-law Vasilia Ferrer. His spirit lives on in his treasured grandchildren, Anna, Christian, Jose, Kaitlin, and Demetrios, as well as his great-grandchildren, Emily, Evan, Zara, and Alice.

Though Luis has departed from our sight, the warmth of his kindness and the strength of his love remain forever etched in our hearts. He will be deeply missed and always remembered as a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
