The Obituary for Lois Jean Bass June 2, 1954 - May 11, 2020 "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." Lois Jean Bass was one of seven children born to the late Joe and Swaine Sanders on June 2, 1954. She departed this life on Monday, May 11, 2020. Also preceding her death is her father, Joe Sanders, and mother, Swaine Sanders, and one brother, Tommy Sanders. She attended Johnston County School area. She worked at the Treasury Department in Washington, DC until she retired in 1993. Today we pay tribute to an outgoing daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, and much more. She leaves to mourn: her siblings, Shirley Archibald (Eli, deceased), Marie Lathon (James), Mattie Pulley (Arthur, deceased), Ora Mae Sanders (Thomas Alexander, deceased) and Larry Lee Sanders (Sheila); a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves two very special friends, Ruth Watson and Crystal Stewart. Lois was loved by many. To know her was to love her. "I am free praise the Lord I'm free, no longer bound, no more chains holding me; My soul is resting, it's such a blessing, Praise the Lord, Hallelujah, I'm free!"
