Jesse Sanders

Mr. Jesse E. Sanders was born in Clayton Township, NC on August 21, 1944 to the late Louise & Coleman Sanders. He later moved to Smithfield, NC. He transitioned from labor to reward on February 26, 2019 in the home.
Jesse attended Short Journey School & Johnston County Training School in Smithfield. He was a dedicated worker at The Town of Smithfield for over 30 years where he later retired in 2001. Jesse was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He was a true UNC and Washington Red Skins sports fan. He wasn't a man of many words, but he had a heart of gold and never complained (except when the kids were keeping too much noise & running in the house). Before his health started to decline, he loved to travel and loved even more to tell the many stories of his experience traveling on the road with his daughter who drove long distance trucks.
He was proceeded in death by a son: Jesse Sanders Jr, father & mother: Coleman Sanders and Louise Sanders; three brothers: George, John, and James Sanders, and three sisters: Emma Sanders, Luvenia Watson, and Mary Bellamy.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving & devoted wife of 50 years, Mary M Sanders; his daughters: Vickie Sanders, Mary D Sanders, Sylvia Sanders (Reynaldo) all of Smithfield, NC, Edna Sanchez (Danilo) of Micro, NC, and Jessica Andrews (James) of Garner, NC; a special God-daughter: Kimberly Smith (Will) of Nashville, NC; his brother: Burt Sanders (Barbara) of Four Oaks, NC; his sister: Sylvia Johnson of Smithfield, NC; a sister-in-law: Emma Bojang of Smithfield, NC; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives.
