James Howard Jones

James Howard Jones was born on December 23, 1947. James was
the oldest sibling of 10 children born to James Howard and Bertha Mae
Jones McGeorge, who preceded him in death.
James as a child attended Sweet Union Baptist Church and later
became a member of Juniper Grove Disciples Church in Four Oaks, NC.
James was educated in the Roanoke, VA School System. After
attending trade school, James began working construction and worked as
a concrete finisher.
James loved to play chess, dominoes, cards, and he was an avid movie
and animal planet watcher.
James was a fun-loving and never met a stranger. He was always
willing to assist his neighbors and friends at any given moment.
James was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine and his son,
James H. Jones.
James leaves to cherish his memory: his life partner, Andrea Haley
and son, Xavier Jones of the home; Montraeus Martin of Raleigh, NC;
Helen Hazzard, Carlos, Vickie, and Daryl Jones all of Roanoke, VA; two
sisters, Mary I. (William) Cannady and Joyce Williams of Roanoke, VA;
six brothers, Thomas Herman (Kimberly) Jones, Ronald L. (Jancice)
McGeorge of Roanoke, VA. Robert (Catherine) McGeorge of Fayetteville,
NC, Jerry T. McGeorge, Mark S. McGeorge and Jackie (Debbie)
McGeorge all of Roanoke, VA; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a host
of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
