Mrs. Ida F. Sims was born to the late Sammie Lee Faison and Zola Davis Faison on May 28, 1951, in Johnston County, North Carolina. She slept away in Christ on December 11, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel (Boone) Sims.
Ida was a member of the House of Prayer, Inc. located in Clayton, North Carolina. As a member of the House of Prayer, she served on the Finance Committee, was a member of the adult choir, and was faithful in her attendance of Sunday School.
Ida graduated from Smithfield Selma High School. Over the years she continued her education receiving various certifications, including an Associate's Degree in cosmetology.
Ida had many talents. She was a seamstress, a cosmetologist, and a barber. She especially enjoyed visiting and conversing with older members of the Christian community.
Ida loved children. As a result of her love and help, there are many who to this day lovingly refer to her as "Aunt Ida."
She leaves to cherish her memory five sisters: Mrs. Clara V. Sims of West Virginia, Mrs. Gloria Hopkins of Greenville, NC, Ms. Janet Faison of Smithfield, NC, Ms. Sandra Faison of Clayton, NC, and Ms. Benita Faison of Fayetteville, NC; four brothers: Robert L. Faison of Clayton, NC, Terry Faison (Faye) of Middlesex, NC, Joe Faison of Selma, NC and Tommy Faison of Goldsboro, NC as well as two step-children, two especially close friends, Lucel Lassiter and Thelma J. Williams, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Although its hard to say good-bye to one we love so well
And there's deeper sorrow in our hearts than words can tell
Still, it comforts us to know the one we love will be forever
Close to us in thought and cherished memory
