Ida McFadden, daughter of the late James and Annie Lou McFadden, was born on March 27, 1956, in Wilson, North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Annie Mae McFadden, and one brother, Anthony McFadden. Ida was raised in Johnston County and educated in the Johnston County public schools. She attended Wilson Technical College, earning a CNA degree, and was employed as a CNA providing home health and private duty care. She worked at Sampson Manufacturing for many years until the business relocated. Afterward, she was employed by T-Mart Convenience Store in Selma, NC, where she served as an Assistant Manager until her health prevented her from working.
Ida was a devoted member of Three Tabernacle Holiness Church for over thirty years, singing in the Gospel Choir until her health no longer allowed her to do so. She was a loving and caring sister and friend. Although she had no children of her own, she was a mother figure to many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ida departed this life home on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the where she was living. Left to cherish her memory are four sisters: Helen Pearce of Richmond, VA; Betty Scarboro (husband, Johnny) of Selma, NC; Josephine McFadden; and Sheila Richardson (husband, George), both of Kenly, NC. Four brothers also survive her: Larry McFadden (wife, Patricia) of Middlesex, NC; James McFadden (wife, Terrell) of Selma, NC; Wayne McFadden (wife, Alice) of Wake Forest, NC; and Randall McFadden of Kenly, NC. She is also survived by her special niece, Monica Anderson, and great-nephew, Jaleel McFadden, both of Kenly, NC; two aunts, Ollie Kirby and Shirley Pearce, both of Kenly, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Ida will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
