Henry Edward Newkirk

Franklin Kornegay was born May 20, 1943, in Fremont, NC to the late Albert and Rhoda Kornegay. He departed his life on September 1, 2020. Franklin attended the Johnston County School System. He worked for several years as a brick mason. Franklin was fun-loving and loved his family. Franklin was preceded in death by his siblings: John Kornegay, Geneva Best, Lillie Mae Johnson, June Kornegay, Willie Kornegay, Raymond Kornegay, Betty Kornegay, Helen Kornegay, Louise Kornegay, Emma Walker, Clara Sanders, and Margaret Morrison. He leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter, Carolyn Kornegay of Garner, NC; one son, Scottie Kornegay of Burlington, NC; one granddaughter, LaQuitta (Walter) Kornegay Smith of Garner, NC; one grandson, Donte' Tabron of Raleigh, NC; six great-grandchildren; his sisters, Rosetta (Nathaniel) Williams of Clayton, NC, Edna Kornegay of Durham, NC, Barbara Kuntz of Raleigh, NC and Carole Kornegay of Detroit, MI and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
