The Obituary
Harold Earl Williams, son of the late Henry June Williams and Margaret McClamb was born on March 29, 1945 in Johnston County. He departed this life on Thursday, February 19, 2026.
Harold attended middle school at Short Journey and graduated from Cooper High School. Harold did a tour in Vietnam while in the United States Army. He served honorably in both the US Army and Army Reserves. He received numerous ribbons, certificates and awards.
Harold enjoyed business creation. While he lived in New York,he owned a record shop and drove a taxi. Upon returning to North Carolina, he owned a community center / night club. He maintained his contacts in New York and would transport watermelons, pecans, and dried pork sausage to sell. He enjoyed cooking and is best known for his ribs, pork barbecue, fried fishand pork skins.
Harold’s first marriage of 32 years was to the late Annie Rose McClain Williams. He found love again with Annie Louise Conde-Williams for 15 years prior to his passing. He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife Annie Conde-Williams. His uncle McKenton ‘Joe’ McClamb. Two sisters Ella W. Bunch (Ben ‘deceased’), and Phyllis M. Williams. Seven sisters in law Delia Mae Smith (Sam), Monica Gurley-Anuku (Edward), Joanne Gurley, Leslie Yvonne Gurley, Orndra Williams (Leroy ‘deceased’), Betty McClain, and Juanita Raines (James). His brother Claude D. Williams ‘deceased’ (Betty). He has 31 niecesand nephews (to include Yvette Raines who he helped raise), great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, great great nephews and many loving caring cousins. He was preceded in death by sisters in law and brothers in law Ernestine McClain, Shirley McClain, Marvin L. Gurley and Herrel McClain (Jeanette).
