Gerald Lynn Monk, born July 14, 1950, in Washington, D.C.to the late Commodore Harvey Monk, Sr, and Davetter Butler Monk Shepard, peacefully answered his Heavenly Father's voice the morning of November 25, 2020, at home. He was baptized at an early age in the Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton NC, and was a member of the junior choir and participated in many church activities. He later joined First Baptist Church in Fayetteville, NC. Throughout, his life he maintained a strong faith in God and a belief in the power of prayer. He easily made friends and kept them for life.
