Felicia Richardson Banks

June 10, 1951 — May 21, 2020

Due to COVID-19, the Governor of North Carolina has asked that all gatherings be limited to no more than 50 people including staff and all attendees such as clergy, ushers, musicians, etc. Please check with the family to see if you are invited.

Felicia Richardson Banks was born on June 10, 1951, in Baltimore, Maryland, and later made her home in Selma, North Carolina. She was preceded in going home to be with the GOD by her father Abraham 'Jack' Richardson, her mother Thelma Richardson, two brothers Charles and Jerry, her father-in-law Willie 'Babe' Banks, and her mother-in-law Velma Redmond.
Known by her family as 'Lit' or 'Lisha', she received her education and graduated from Richard B. Harrison in Selma. Shortly thereafter, she established and maintained a lifelong career as an incredible mother and grandmother, a sister with lots of love, and a crazy aunt. She was also an incredible gospel singer!
A huge disciplinarian, she constantly stayed on her children so they would make the right decisions throughout their lives. She always made sure that her husband and children knew GOD and his son Jesus Christ. She lived her life as a Christian so that she could walk the streets of gold and be with GOD for eternity…mission accomplished.
On May 21, 2020, while everyone was sleeping, she pulled off her greatest feat…she flew without getting on a plane, leaving behind everything that she owned and moved to a place called Heaven. There, she awaits her entire family.
She leaves to carry on her legacy: husband, Larry Banks (her Larry Poppa/Papa); two daughters, Lakeisha Banks her Baby and Daphne Canady her Nisey; two sons, Corey Banks her Booby Reds and Shawn Banks her Meanboy; two sisters Carolyn Mitchell (Edgar Jr) and Cynthia Joyner (Bonnie); three brothers, Anthony Richardson (Renarda), Delroy Richardson (Evelyn) and Demetrius Richardson (Dale); two sisters-in-law, Shirley Richardson (Ricky) and Faye Faison (Terry); two brothers-in-law, Donald Banks and Danny Banks five grandchildren, who she refused to 'whoop', DeMario Shaw, Shawnya' Banks, Kayla Canady, Jaylen Wilder, and Carmelo Banks-Wiggins. She also leaves her smile and love with many beautiful nieces, strong nephews, and loving cousins.
If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and is justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, "Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame." For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile-the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:9-13
