Esther Mae Donald Atkinson

Mrs. Esther Mae Atkinson was born September 22, 1928 in Johnston County, NC to the late Luby and Martha Scarboro. She attended Richard B. Harrison School. She departed this life early morning, January 9, 2021. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Atkinson; two sons, Willie and Verness Meeks, and two brothers, Robert and James Scarboro. She leaves to cherish her memories: five sons, Olenzra (Mary), Earvin (Faye), Eddie (Janice), James (Rachel), and LeAnthony (Katie); seven brothers, Willie Scarboro, Nathan Scarboro, Luther Scarboro, Wilbert Scarboro, Roosevelt Scarboro, Joseph Scarboro, and Rodney Scarboro; two sisters, Carolyn McPhail and Mamie Richardson; 21 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. John 14: 1-3 "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
