Eddie Thomas Leach, Jr.

Eddie Thomas Leach, Jr., of Smithfield, North Carolina, peacefully

departed this earthly life at Hospice House in Smithfield. The family

extends its heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, caregivers, and

staff whose compassion, kindness, and dedicated care provided comfort

and support during his final days.

Eddie was born to the late Eddie Thomas Leach, Sr. and

Doris Elizabeth Lee Leach. He was preceded in death by his

beloved wife, Artelia Hamme Leach, and his sister, Linda Faye Bennett.

A devoted father and loyal family man, Eddie leaves to cherish his

memory his beloved son, Eddie Thomas Leach Ill, affectionately

known as "Spirit," who brought immense pride and joy to his life.

He is also survived by his loving siblings: three sisters, Lillian Lee,

Annette Pearson, and Brenda Leach; and two brothers,

Clifton Leach (Anita) and Connie Leach. In addition, he leaves behind

a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and

dear friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.

Eddie will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering loyalty,

and deep love for his family. His gentle spirit, warm presence, and

kindness toward others touched the lives of many. During his final days,

he was surrounded by the love and support of family and friends whose

visits, phone calls, text messages, prayers, and thoughtful acts of

kindness brought him comfort and made each day meaningful.

Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts

of all who knew and loved him.
