Cheryl Anne Brown Williams was born on March 22, 1955, in New Burgh, New York, to the late Virginia Juba and Charles Brown. She peacefully passed away on May 6, 2026.
Cheryl was raised in New Burgh and graduated from New Burgh Free Academy School. Throughout her life, she was known for her warm heart and genuine personality. She dedicated 25 years as a seamstress at BNL Sportswear and an additional 20 years at PT Apparel. Sewing was not only her profession but also her passion; she often performed alterations for friends and family free of charge.
She cherished cooking for her loved ones and was known for her honest and straightforward nature. Cheryl treasured spending time with family and friends during holidays, birthdays, and all special occasions. Her favorite vacation destination was Topsail Island, where she enjoyed the beach. Her preferred dining spots included Golden Corral and Western Sizzling. Our mama Cheryl, was truly full of life and deeply valued the moments spent with those she loved.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Michael Williams; her children, John Walker (Carnetta Williams), Nikki McNeill (Tio Spears), and Cheri Scott (Dequincy Raines); stepson Michael Jackson; goddaughter Tiesha Robinson; and godson Carnice Warren. Cheryl also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Nadesha McNeill (Dee Walden), Jaquan Spears (Delesha Kelly), Shatia Raines, Dabresha Spears, Ozias Spears (Brittany Stanley), Hykeem Raines, Rmani Raines, and Treshaun McNeill (Daisy Panchi). Furthermore, she is survived by eleven great-grandchildren: Nakiyah Jones, Zaniyah Spears, Nykeese Jones, Jayden Phillips, Jahmir Spears, Kanden Raines, Jahkel Spears, Jabree Phillips, Kamryn Raines, Janylah Phillips, and Makiyah Watson. Cheryl’s great-grand dog, Niko, also remains a cherished part of her family’s life.
Cheryl Anne Brown Williams’ life was a testament to love, honesty, and dedication. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
