Brenda Rich Blue, age 73, was born March 13,1952

to the late James and Katie Rich. She transitioned peacefully

into the arms of her eternal father on February 9th, 2026. She

fought a courageous battle and remained steadfast in her faith,

demonstrating grace, strength, and dignity throughout her journey.

Brenda’s early years were spent as one of the first

graduating classes from Smithfield Senior High where she met

her husband Donnie Lee Blue. Through her husband’s service in

the Army, she experienced life in Germany, Virginia, Florida and

many other places before ultimately finding her way back home to

North Carolina. Brenda dedicated 40 years of faithful service to

Walmart, where she built lasting friendships and touched the lives

of many through her strong work ethic and warm spirit.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Donnie

Lee Blue and her sister Doris Powell. She leaves to cherish her

memory, her devoted daughter Courtney Blue (Antonio), her son

Dario Everett (Amelia), her sister Freda Frink and Linda Rich,

and a brother James Rich, her cherished grandchildren, Shaun

Clayton , Kionna, Tatiana (Avant), Antonio Jr, Skyya, Akio,

Romee, Ryuu, and great grandchildren Journee, Issac, Reign,

Rylan, and a host of extended family members and dear friends.

Brenda found great joy in spending time with her daughter

(Courtney). She was known for her warm spirit and unforgettable

personality. Whether she was joyriding to her favorite stores,

keeping everyone laughing with her sense of humor or hitting a

dance move here and there. She did everything with love.

Brenda was a faithful member of First Missionary Baptist

Church, where she nurtured her faith and fellowship with her

church. Her loving Spirit and vibrant personality and unwavering

love for her family will forever remain in the hearts of those

who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly

remembered.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to her

son in love (Antonio) and grandson in love (Avant) for standing

beside her with love, support and comfort during her illness and
