Beverly LaShon Geddie

Beverly L. Geddie, a beloved daughter, sister, and cherished member of the Smithfield community, was born on March 2, 1972, and peacefully passed away on April 2, 2026. A lifelong resident of her hometown, Beverly’s gentle and loving spirit touched all who knew her. She attended SSS High School and grew up as an active member of the Lily of the Valley Church of Christ, where her kindness and warmth were well known.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry Cotton and Angenor “Fuzz” Geddie, and was lovingly raised by her grandmother, the late Irene B. Sanders. She is lovingly remembered by her one brother: Roderick Geddie of Smithfield, NC: four uncles: Lewis Geddie and his wife Shirley of Four Oaks, NC, Roger Geddie and his wife Angie of Selma, Joe Geddie of California, and Ronnie Geddie of Philadelphia. Beverly’s life was also celebrated by a large extended family and many dear friends who hold her memory close to their hearts.

Her family warmly invites all who knew Beverly to honor her life by remembering her generosity and the deep warmth she shared so freely. Beverly’s legacy lives on in the love and joy she brought to everyone around her—a true celebration of a life well-lived.
