Andy Ralph Nunn, 64, of North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on July 9, 2026. He was born on March 31, 1962, in Goldsboro, Wayne County, to the late B. Frank Nunn Sr. and Betty S. Nunn.

Andy was a man who found his peace in simple things: a quiet morning on the water, a well-played game of pool, and long evenings spent front porch sitting with the people he loved. He was a proud Tar Heel through and through, never missing a chance to cheer on UNC basketball, and he had a deep love for bluegrass music that could always be counted on to fill the house. Above all, Andy was happiest surrounded by family, and he made sure everyone around him felt that love in return.

Andy is survived by his loving fiancée, Gloria Baker, who stood by his side and shared his heart in these later years. He leaves behind his sons, Drew Painter (wife Chelsea) and Trey Nunn, who carry forward his memory and his love of family. He is also survived by his sister, Rosemary Nunn Joyner, and her husband, Royce Joyner, along with his sister-in-law, Jayne Nunn.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents, B. Frank Nunn Sr. and Betty S. Nunn; his brother, B. Frank Nunn Jr., known to all as “Benny”; and his beloved children, Tyler Nunn and Kari L. Nunn, who he now joins once again.

Andy was a private man who kept his own counsel, but those who knew him understood that his love ran deep, even when it wasn’t always spoken. He showed it in his own way: a seat saved on the porch, a fishing trip planned, a game of pool that turned into an afternoon. He never made a show of things, but he was there. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In keeping with Andy’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. The family will honor his memory privately.
