Alice Elizabeth Etringer (nee’Balduf) age 99, born in North Bellmore, New York, 1925, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2024. Beloved wife of 61 years to Walter J Etringer (deceased), devoted mother to Walter (deceased), Arthur (Marcelle) of Fayetteville, New York, Richard (Sheryl) of Wesley Chapel, Florida, Alice Gamble (Fred Gulizia) of Clayton, North Carolina, Linda Roemer (Michael) of Sarasota, Florida. God blessed her with 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was loved and adored by many nieces, nephews and friends. She was also predeceased by her companion of 15 years, Charles Kerns. She graduated from Wellington C. Mepham High School Bellmore, New York in 1942.

Alice and her husband Walter raised their family in Merrick, New York. Alice worked for many years as a bank teller at Manufacturers Hanover Trust in Hicksville, New York. Over the years Alice volunteered her time to scouting and many other community activities. Alice was an active member of WELCA at Grace Lutheran Church, North Bellmore, New York, until she moved to Clayton, North Carolina to live with her daughter Alice, 3 years ago.

She loved her family and friends and enjoyed time spent at all the joy filled gatherings. May those whose lives she touched continue to feel her love from memories of her smile and laughter.

Interment of her ashes, as well as her husband Walter’s, will take place at Sarasota National Cemetery (Sarasota, Florida) on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 10:30 am. A Celebration of Life by her loving family will follow.
